DINAJPUR, Bangladesh : January 02, 2003: Three Deacons were ordained as priest in Dinajpur Diocese in the last week of December just after the Christmas. Bishop Moses Costa CSC ordained these three priests.
 On 28th December 2002 Arun William Rozario (OMI) was ordained priest at Dinajpur Cathedral Parish. Arun is the first priest from the Cathedral Parish. In the ordination mass there were about 25 priests, about 50 sisters and about 300 people. A group of 16 Japanese guests were also present in the ceremony. Fr. Clyde OMI from Rome represented the Oblate Superior General. On the next day Arun offered his thanks giving mass in the Cathedral.
 On 30th December 2002, Lazarus Soren and Michael Tigga were ordained at Mariampur Catholic Church. Bishop Moses ordained them. About 32 priest, 40 Sisters and about one thousand people present in the mass. Some guests from Italy also took part in the ceremony. On 31st December they newly ordained priests offered their thanks giving mass at their own village separately. END

 

Note :
1) Arun William Rozario was born in 8th July 1973. He completed his primary and high school studies in St. Philip’s High School, Dinajpur. Then he joined to the Oblate Seminary at Dhaka and completed his studies (Intermediate and graduation) from Notre Dame College of Dhaka. Arun went to Sri Lanka for his novitiate there for two years. In 1999 he went to Italy for studying in Gregorian University of Rome. On the 4th May of 2002 he was ordained as Deacon and he returned to Bangladesh in July 2002. Fr. Arun William Rozario was appointed as the assistant parish priest of Lukhipur Catholic Church at Kulawara District. Mr. Daniel Rozario and Mrs. Agnes Costa is the parents of Fr. Arun. Fr. Arun is the 3rd Children among the four children of his parents (three brothers and one sister). Fr. Arun is an OMI priest.

2) Lazarus Soren was born in 31st March 1968 at Maldoho (a village of Mariampur Catholic Parish). His father is Mr. Angelus Soren and mother is Mrs. Maria Soren. Fr. Lazarus is a Santal man. He is the 5th Children of among the 10 brothers & sisters (5 brothers and 5 sisters). Fr. Lazarus completed his primary study in Dhanjuri, junior high school at Mariampur School and high school at St. Philip’s High School, Dinajpur. Fr. Lazarus completed his studies (Intermediate and graduation) from Notre Dame College of Dhaka. Fr. Lazarus is a Diocesan priest and he was appointed at Dhanjuri Catholic Church as the assistant Parish Priest.

3) Michael Tigga was born in Ghira (a village of Mariampur Catholic Parish) in 26th August 1972. His parents are Mr. Benjamin Tigga and Mrs. Priscilla Kujur. Fr. Michael is from Oraon tribe. He is the 7th among 7 children. Fr. Michael completed his primary study in village school at Ghira, junior high school at Mariampur School and high school at St. Philip’s High School, Dinajpur. Fr. Michael joined to the seminary in 1989 and completed his Intermediate studies from Dinajpur Govt. College and graduation from Notre Dame College of Dhaka. Fr. Michael is a Diocesan priest and he was appointed at Suihari Catholic Church as the assistant Parish Priest.
4) Mariampur Catholic Parish is about 80 KM from Dinajpur Bishop’s House.
