NEWLY
BUILT CHURCH BLESSED
A newly built Church was blessed and
inaugurated at Pathorghata Catholic
Parish, in Joypurhat District.
Bishop Moses Costa, CSC; the bishop of Dinajpur Diocese blessed this church. The inauguration ceremony started with the welcoming ceremony of Bishop and other guest. In the holy mass 26 priests were present.
Bishops Moses blessed the alter and
walls of the church.
After the blessing, a cultural function
was performed by the local people of Pathorghata Parish.
This church was built with the financial
assistance of MISEREO (Germany), Propaganda
of Faith (the commission of Pope) and the relatives &
fiends of Fr. Cesare Pesce, PIME.
Fr.
Adolfo L'Imperio was the architect and the engineer of this
church.
Bishop Joseph Obert, PIME, announced Pathorghata as a Catholic Parish in 20th February 1962. In this parish there are more than two thousand Catholic and all are belongs to tribal people. There are 19 villages in this parish. Pathorghata Parish is dedicated in the name of St. Peter and St. Paul. |
